Let’s talk about an oil that has in practice for generations but are now back again in our skincare regimes for good. The use of this oil dates back to ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian civilizations who used the oil in an effort to soothe inflammation. The age-old oil I’m talking about is carrot oil.
Carrot oil is the process of the whole entire carrot, not just the seed. Dried carrots placed in a jar to be infused with a carrier oil. Compared to the carrot seed oil which is an essential oil, has more benefits for you skin, hair, and well the entire body.
Using carrot oil for face can transform the appearance of your skin and consuming it internally can support your health in various ways. The good news is that normally what is good for you on the inside is usually good for you on the outside, and consuming carrot oil can nourish your skin from the inside out. Just like eating carrots, the oil is absorbed by your skin and your skin is left with vitamin C as well as a healthy moisturized layer.
Placing carrot oil on your face regulates skin sebum production and has the power to balance out dry or oily skin as it gives skin enough moisture without clogging pores – not only this, but it’s suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Carrot oil is used to protect the skin from ultraviolet rays and has strong antiaging properties due to its rich content of vitamins A, C, and E. If you are looking for an oil to brighten and tone the skin, using carrot oil for the face can boost dull, lackluster skin to leave skin radiant and glowing. It’s high beta-carotene content rejuvenates the skin cells.
You can even add carrot oil to your hair and scalp for longer stronger hair as well as a moisturized scalp. Based on anecdotal evidence, carrot oil can help hair to grow faster and thicker. People who are looking to keep their hair long and avoid split ends may find that carrot oil helps. Conditioning the hair with carrot oil is also said to improve its texture, making it shinier, smoother, and softer to the touch. Others who have used carrot oil say it helps to prevent hair loss by making the roots stronger at the scalp. Its vitamins could have a protective effect from outdoor damage, shielding it from the harshest UV rays and environmental pollution. By boosting blood circulation to the scalp, carrot oil could also serve to keep your hair healthier from root to tip.

Instructions
- Grab a cheese grater and grate the carrots. You can also use a food processor that has a shredding wheel but you will have to squeeze out the water.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degress F to 250 degrees F.
- After all of the carrots have been grated, grab a cookie sheet and cover it with parchment paper. Add the carrots and thin them out. If you leave the carrot bunch up they won't dry evenliy.
- Add the carrots to the preheated oven and set the timer for 4 to 6 hours.
- After the carrots are done drying. Grab another bowl and add coconut oil. Melt the coconut oil using the microwave.
- Add the dried carrots to a mason jar. Add the melted coconut oil and put the top on the mason jar tight.
- This part is optional. You can let the carrot infuse with the oil for 1 to 3 weeks or using the double boil method, which speeds up the infusition to a couple days. I recommend this step.
- After some time that gone by depending on which one you choosed in the last step 5 days or 3 weeks. Grab another mason jar and coffee filters(make sure you have like 3 coffee filters stacked together) and start draining the oil.
- Then store the carrot oil anywhere where no kids or pets can't get to it.
