Doggy Duty

Posted by on Jul 12, 2013 in uncategorized

Doggy Duty I am so in love with or new rescue puppy that I have bought her all kinds of toys and treats. Country Man thinks I should stop but she is so cute I cannot help myself. I decided to name her Sisany. I thought it was a cute name and she is my little baby. Countryman said the rescue place told him she was potty trained but apparently she is not. Well now I am the one stuck potty training her.

I love my little baby but I feel like I am the only one taking care of her; of course when I was told by countryman that he would help, I should have known that was not going to happen since he has been working ten hour shifts.  Luckily she is not that much of a handful yet; she is still trying to learn how to walk with a leash on her and she cannot stand her collar. She loves to chase birds and when they fly in the air or chase her back she is running scary between my legs.

I told my sister she had a niece and of course she is not having that; truth be told I think she is just jealous of Sisnay (if she reads this she will kill me), I know she does not want to admit it but she knows she is. Sisnay loves her auntie anyway, with such a cute face how can you not fall in love.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Dough Bites

Posted by on Jul 11, 2013 in uncategorized

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Dough Bites I love cloudy weather it makes everything seem clear even though they have grey overtones. I never think of a cloudy day as a gloomy day. When the clouds come I miss living in La, the clouds bring back wonderful memories for me. Living in AZ it’s always sunny you really never know when you hit spring or summer.

The only time you know when summer has come is when the snow birds have left, and it seems like the streets are empty. I never understand why I moved to AZ, I honestly had no attentions of living here. I just grabbed my stuff told my grandparents I was moving to Santa Clarita, CA. I ended up with all my bags packed me and my sister on a six hour road trip to Mesa, AZ; by the time it was all done we made it and 400 bucks went to a speeding ticket.

I never thought I would live in another state, I thought I would stay in Cali forever but I didn’t. When you feel tie down by your surroundings and nothing is working out the way you want it to, and you know it will stay the same. Change can be healthy not a major one but a simple one that will bring you some peace.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Dough Bites

I use to make these bites all the time when I first moved to AZ, in my little tiny blender (hence the story). The bites are a great treat for a sweet tooth and when you do not want to make cookies. I decided I wanted to keep calories low so I used powdered peanut butter instead of regular peanut butter and they turned out just as great.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Dough Bites

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Dough Bites Recipe:

  • 1 1/2 cup pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup p2b powder peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Place rolled oats, powder peanut butter, and dates into the food processor and make a crumble mixture. Add vanilla and blend until the mixture becomes a big ball of dough.Make 14 medium size dough balls and store in a air tight container

Recipe Notes: The bites are healthy you can add a little chocolate if you like, I did for a few of my bites; you may get more bites if you do not eat the dough. I would have ended up with 20 bites, I could not help my self from eating the dough. There are plenty of variations when making this dough and a great alternative to cookies. Make sure you freeze them they can become very sticky.

Sleepy Time Lavender SoakOne of my coworkers has been complaining about not being able to sleep at night. I keeping telling her to by some lavender Epsom salt and she will sleep like a baby; well she still has not bought it and her birthday is coming up. I decided to make her a sleepy soak that will put her to bed quickly.

Lavender Soak

I used 2 cups of Epsom salt

Sleepy Time Lavender Soak

I added 10 drops of essential oils and food coloring to the salt

Sleepy Time Lavender Soak

I pulsed it about 10-20 times; I wanted it to be a powdered but still have a few salt crystals left

Sleepy Time Lavender Soak

Recipe Notes: The Lavender soak will have certain rooms smelling like lavender, it is very addicting and you just may fall asleep in the tub. I decided to take a bath and try the soak out; it did not stain my tub at all. With a little elbow grease the dye came right out of the tub.

Granola Bar (5 ingredients)

Posted by on Jul 9, 2013 in uncategorized

Granola Bar (5 ingredients)I love granola bars, but this batch I did not get a single crumb. These granola bars get eaten quickly in this house. They are chewy and crunchy and not hard on your teeth at all. I always believe when you make quick snacks they get eaten even quicker.

Granola Bar (5 ingredients)

Be careful not to burn the oats, they only need 5 mins

Granola Bar (5 ingredients)

Honey looks so sexy

Granola Bar (5 ingredients)

A few licks is all I got

Granola Bar (5 ingredients)

Time to wrap

Granola Bar (5 ingredients)

Granola Bar (5 ingredients):
• 2 cup rolled oats
• 1 cup puffed rice cereal
• 3/4 cup honey
• 1 tbsp. coconut oil
• 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Place parchment paper in a 9 by 9 inch square cake pan and set aside. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spread oats and rice cereal onto a half-sheet pan. Place in the oven and toast for 5 minutes.
While toasting mix honey vanilla extract, and coconut oil in a separate bowl. Take oats out the oven place in a bowl and immediately add honey mixture. Place in the cake pan and put in the oven for 20 minutes; once done let cool cut and serve.

Recipe Notes:
If you would like a crunchy bar you can add extra time in the oven to your bars. The bars will crumble once you cut them if the coconut oil and honey mixture does not have time to set. Use a sharp knife a pizza cutter is not sharp enough to cut into the bars.
