Turmeric Soap Bars

Turmeric Soap bars!

Color your soap with turmeric powder to make it a lovely yellow with no clumps and get all the skin loving benefits of turmeric powder..

Hey all you Savvy Naturalista’s welcome to another episode of DIY Saturday. In this episode we are making turmeric soap bars. These soap bars use turmeric powder as an all-natural colorant to color your soap.

Turmeric Soap Bars

The turmeric powder in this soap gives off a beautiful yellow color that is not to dark or to light. The less turmeric you use the lighter the soap will be. The more turmeric you use the darker the soap will be. I found that if you use about ½ tbsp. of turmeric powder the soap will not stain the skin. Even if you have very fair skin the soap will not stain. But if you are a bit hesitant than just use about two tsps. and you should be fine.

I really enjoy when you guys take the time to send me emails and leave comments. I was contacted by a reader who really enjoyed using my turmeric scrub cups. She was curious if I could make soap using turmeric powder as all natural colorant to pair with the turmeric scrub cups.

Well after testing a few recipes I came up with the perfect combination of turmeric and soap. Now you can pair the two and make gifts or a lovely set to give to that special someone or friends and family members. I am thinking of creating a few more beauty DIY’s that we can add the turmeric powder beauty collection. It’s really fun working with natural colorants and they perform just as well, you may not get the bright yellow but it’s still a beautiful dark yellow.

I hope you are enjoying DIY Saturday this summer and have created some wonderful beauty recipes using miracle glow oil and even aqua de rosas. Miracle glow oil can be used on it’s on if you really love it in the turmeric soap. It’s a wonderful natural moisturizer that adds moisture to the body and face without being greasy.

Now just in case you haven’t been around or you missed a few episodes let’s recap: green tea body scrub cups, honey green tea mask, simple mani bombs, sinus headache relief shower bombs, turmeric body scrub cups, strawberry body scrub, single serving strawberry smoothie, mosquito repellent candles, mosquito repellent lotion bars, sweet orange facial clay bars, strawberry lip scrub and green tea swirl soap.

Turmeric Soap Bar Recipe:

1 ½ coconut melt and pour soap base

2 tbsps. glycerin

½ tbsp. aqua de rosas

½ tbsp. turmeric powder

20 drops miracle glow oil

20 drops sweet orange essential oil

15 drops lavender essential oil

Recipe Directions:  In a microwave safe bowl melt soap for 3-5 minutes or until melted. In a cup add glycerin, aqua de roasa and turmeric powder until combined. Once combined pour turmeric mixture into melt and pour base and stir, than add lavender, sweet orange and miracle glow oil to base and mix until combined. Once combine pour in soap mold and let set.
